Ondo State Govt will continue to partner any reputable organization with a view to engaging youth in productive ventures.
The Gov. Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) said this at the presentation of certificates to forty young school leavers & unemployed graduates who have successfully completed a one month intensive training on ICT in Ondo West local govt & Uso in Owo local govt areas of Ondo state.
Represented by his SSA on ICT & Chairman, State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Hon. Olumbe Akinkugbe, the gov charged the trainees to take advantage of the knowledge acquired during the exercise to start a new life.
According to Arakunrin Akeredolu, the aim of the digital training is to reduce the rate of unemployment among youth through digital & entrepreneurial skills.
While commending the participants for exhibiting high moral standard throughout the exercise, the gov equally appreciated the trainers Elyion Edge for displaying unparalleled teaching techniques aimed at preparing the participants for challenges ahead.
ATC team leader, Gloria Eyieyen confirmed that the participants have been sufficiently trained in Microsoft Office Suit, Digital Marketing & Website Design that can make them start small or medium scale ICT businesses on their own.
She therefore assured the government & good people of the of state the support of ATC at all time.
Some of the trainees while appreciating govt for the gesture requested for financial assistance that will enable them put into use the knowledge they have acquired during the exercise.
In an interview, the representative of the gov said govt will open more training centers in other local govt areas following the success of the pilot project.
