The newly inaugurated Permanent Secretary in charge of the State Information Technology agency, Mrs. Bunmi Omotola has charged the management and staff of the agency to redouble their commitment to duty so as to win more laurels for the state.
In her maiden interface with the staff, Omotola charged them to be innovative, proactive and see themselves as agents of change the present administration is clamouring for.
She appealed to the workers to embrace ethical values and allow their conducts to be driven by integrity that will enable them deliver more quality service to justify their pay.
While describing hard work, punctuality and moderate dressing as hallmark of a decent officer, Mrs Omotola re-echoed the need for the staff to maintain government’s property under their care.
The Perm. Sec commended the management and staff of the agency for making the state proud at the just concluded Africa Digital Award in Lagos where Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was honoured as the best ICT Infrastructural Governor of the year.
According to her, the award would not have been possible without the resilience, dedication and exemplary qualities of the staff.
Omotola listed one of the star projects considered by the awardee to include the establishment of Tech Hub in the heart of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) with students population of about 20,000.
Another outstanding programme by SITA according to her, leading to the award is the Digital Village Projects (DVP) across the state aimed at tackling the problem of high rate of youth unemployment.
She assured the state workforce that internet facilities will no longer be seen as luxury following the approval of broadband internet by state government for the use of civil/public servants to boost productivity
